Two Advisers Sworn in for Bangladesh’s Interim Government
On Sunday (August 11), two new advisors, Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar and Supradeep Chakma, were sworn in as part of the interim government led by Prof Muhammad Yunus. The oath ceremony took place at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban.
The advisors were assigned specific ministries:
Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar: Ministry of Primary and Mass Education
Supradeep Chakma: Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts
Their appointments were announced through a notification issued by the Cabinet Department.
The interim government now consists of 16 members, including the chief advisor. Farooq-e-Azam, another advisor, is yet to take oath and is expected to do so in the next 1-2 days.
Following the formation of the interim government, Nobel laureate Yunus retained 27 ministries and departments, including the two assigned to the new advisors.
