## The Girl Denied a Passport Due to ’Game of Thrones’ Character Name
The story of a young girl whose passport was denied due to her name being identical to a character in the popular series “Game of Thrones” went viral on social media.
Media outlets like the BBC reported that the UK Passport Office refused to issue a passport to a 6-year-old girl named Khaleesi Holloway because her name mirrored that of a character in the beloved series.
Holloway’s travel plans to Disneyland Paris with her mother were unfortunately cancelled due to this bureaucratic hurdle.
The agency cited trademark infringement concerns, explaining that issuing the passport would require permission from Warner Bros., the owners of the “Game of Thrones” trademark.
However, a few days later, the Home Office clarified that the application had been processed incorrectly and the passport would be issued.
The mother expressed her disappointment, highlighting the emotional impact of the situation on her and her daughter, who were looking forward to their first holiday together.
She also questioned why such an issue wasn’t flagged when her daughter’s birth certificate was issued.
