The Jordanian Armed Forces reported on Sunday morning that two pilot officers were killed when one of the Royal Jordanian Air Force’s training aircraft crashed during a training exercise at King Hussein Air Base.
A responsible military source within the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (the Arab Army) stated that the incident occurred during a training flight, leading to the tragic loss of both Major Pilot Omar Atta Al-Abadi and Captain Pilot Mohammed Abdullah Al-Khudair. The plane reportedly crashed during the training session, and the pilots were transported to Al-Hussein Medical City.
The General Command of the Armed Forces expressed their deepest condolences and regret over the tragic loss of life. This is not the first time a training plane crash has resulted in the death of a Jordanian military officer. In mid-2022, two air force officers lost their lives when a Royal Jordanian Air Force plane crashed and plunged into an empty lot in the Ramtha area of Irbid Governorate.
