After almost ninety years, the Walt Disney Company studio has made a remake of Snow White, its famous animated film from 1937. On Saturday evening, the company released the first trailer from the upcoming live version.

As Variety.com writes, Snow White is played by Rachel Zegler, known from the film version of the musical West Side Story or last year’s dystopian Hunger Games: Ballads of Birds and Snakes. Israeli star Gal Gadot took on the role of the evil queen. She became famous as the superheroine Wonder Woman.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937 was the first full-length animated film of the Walt Disney studio and at the same time the first for which the company won an Oscar. The story begins at the magic mirror with the question “Who is the most beautiful in the world?”. When the evil queen learns that her stepdaughter Snow White far surpasses her charms, she decides to get rid of her.
On the run from hatred, Snow White stumbles upon a cottage where seven dwarves Smurf, Próf, Štístko, Kejchal, Stydlín, Dřímal and sullen Rejpal live. Meeting each other will change their destinies.
A feature remake of this classic fairy tale has now been made by Marc Webb. The film was originally supposed to premiere already this year, but due to last year’s Hollywood strike of screenwriters and actors, it will not reach Czech cinemas until March 20, 2025.
The Walt Disney Company has begun returning to its most famous fairy tales in the past decade, and is now remaking earlier animated stories either with real actors or with the help of photorealistic computer tricks. The company has already released new versions of Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King and, most recently, Pinocchio and The Little Mermaid.
