According to details, Singapore has made it easier for international students to obtain permanent residence (PR) by relaxing immigration rules. Under the revised rules, such student pass holders can apply for Singapore PR. , who have passed at least one national examination or attended an integrated program. Previously, foreign students had to wait two years, after which they were eligible to apply for PR. The new policy has made it faster to get PR for students who show good academic performance. Under the new policy, students who have passed Primary School Leaving Examination (ESLE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) N/O/A levels will also be eligible to apply for PR.
Students participating in an integrated programme, who have completed a 6-year course, including a GCEA level, IB Diploma or NUS High School Diploma, will also be eligible to apply for a PR. The Singapore government has also changed the rules on guardian visas and male guardians are also allowed to accompany the student. Earlier, only female guardians could accompany the student.
