Daniel Sousa was dismissed from his position as head coach of Sp. Braga this Sunday, a decision that comes in the wake of the 1-1 draw with Estrela da Amadora, relating to the first round of the I Liga, announced the Minho club.

“Sporting de Braga informs that Daniel Sousa is no longer the coach of the first team, effective immediately. Along with him, the assistants Francisco Matos, Maxi Pereira, Ricardo Ribeiro, Abel Pimenta, Carlos Gomes, and Miguel Bastos are also leaving the club,” the Braga officials announced.

This announcement came just a few minutes after Daniel Sousa spoke in the press room following the draw with Estrela da Amadora.

“Sporting de Braga thanks Daniel Sousa and his coaching staff for their dedication and commitment to the club in recent months. The name of the new coach of Sporting de Braga will be officially announced in due time,” concludes the Minho emblem.

Daniel Sousa had started his role in Braga this season, after having led Arouca to seventh place in the league the previous season. With the Minho team, he only managed four official matches, three of which were related to the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
