Al-Baour receives the new representative of the UNICEF office and the new ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, received Mohammed Fayyadhi to present a copy of his credentials as the new representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Libya.

During the meeting, “ways of cooperation, coordination and intensification of efforts between the two sides in a number of files were discussed, including promoting children’s rights. UNICEF also has several cooperative projects with national bodies concerned with child care, such as education and protection from violence. The commitment to the National Unity Government’s action plan, the steering committee formed by a decision of the Minister of Planning within the framework of sustainable development 2023-2025, was also addressed.”

The meeting was attended by the Director of the International Organizations Department, Mr. Sofiane Belkhair, and a number of the department’s employees.

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, also received Ralph Tarraf, the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State of Libya.

The meeting comes within the framework of developing and advancing bilateral cooperation relations between the State of Libya and the Federal Republic of Germany in a way that achieves the common interest of both parties. Al-Baour welcomed the German Ambassador, wishing him success in performing his new duties, and discussed with him the latest developments in the Libyan arena, the file of illegal immigration, and followed up with him the procedures taken for the upcoming visit of the Minister of State for Migration Affairs at the German Ministry of the Interior, in order to discuss ways to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of immigration and other fields.
