The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, stressed that Libya’s unity represents a red line, stressing the need to stand against anyone who tries to renew military violations that aim to strengthen division and tyranny of power and support one party at the expense of another.

This statement came during the graduation ceremony of students of military colleges and the Academy of Naval Studies in Janzour, on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Libyan army.

Dabaiba pointed out the necessity of continuing efforts to build a strong army that protects the homeland and its capabilities, explaining that it is the duty of the Ministry of Defense to support the army’s capabilities to establish security and maintain borders, and to support training and development plans.

The head of the Government of National Unity pointed out that “the current security situation in the country is not ideal, but it is moving steadily towards stability, and that every day is better than the previous one.”

Dabaiba stressed the importance of moving forward in building a strong army based on the belief of loyalty to God and then to the homeland, not on loyalty to entities or individuals.

The Deputy of the Presidential Council – Supreme Commander of the Army – Abdullah Al-Lafi confirmed their firm commitment to building and developing the army to be one of the modern armies, stressing that training its units is a fundamental pillar to ensure their readiness to face any challenges.

For his part, Chief of General Staff Mohammed Al-Haddad said that today’s wars do not require a regular army to defend the homeland, but rather require strenuous efforts from all the people to support the military, in addition to the care of officials to provide all the needs needed by the armed forces.

Al-Haddad pointed out that the army and military personnel do not practice politics, and politicians cannot use weapons for their political interests, adding that it is time to stand together to work for the future of Libya and build a strong army to protect it.
