It all started with a street demonstration organized by this structure to protest against the results of the competition for access to the civil service. According to our information, the members of the prefectural office of contract teachers of this jurisdiction located in the administrative region of Labé, took to the streets on the morning of Monday, August 12, 2024. Unfortunately, this claim was short-lived. Reached by telephone, one of the organizers of this grumbling, 5 leaders of the movement were arrested and taken into custody by the gendarmerie, on the orders of the prefect.
“We are victims of injustice related to the results of access to the civil service. Not to lie to you, the results published for the Tougué prefecture surprised us in more ways than one. That is why we decided to go out and demonstrate today, since even the DPE says they are surprised by the results, but this whole charade was orchestrated at their office. That is why we decided to go out to march on the DPE, to demand an answer. We left the youth center to join the DPE. Once at the gendarmerie, a few meters from the administrative block of the prefecture, the gendarmes arrested us, on the orders of the prefect. The gendarmes told us that they had received the order to take all the officials to their unit and placed them in police custody. As I speak to you, we are in police custody. There are five (5) of us in total. Where I speak to you, I am in police custody. “I am with our prefectural coordinator, our sub-prefectural coordinator and our information officer. We have been here since morning,” says Ibrahima Traoré.
According to our contact, out of nearly 300 contract workers assessed, only 75 copies were sent to the appropriate authorities.
“We do not accept the published results. It is at the level of the DPE that the whole problem was created. So we are asking for the justification of the DPE. We learned that out of 286 contract workers evaluated, only 75 copies were sent back, this is the reason for Tougué’s failure,” adds Ibrahima Traoré.
