Universitario Snatches Dramatic Draw Against Sport Huancayo in Liga 1 Clash

Universitario salvaged a point from their visit to Sport Huancayo in matchday 6 of the 2024 Clausura Tournament of Liga 1. Just when the Huancayo fans thought they had the victory in their pocket, the ‘cremas’ managed to equalize in a dramatic finish.

After a first half with few scoring chances, everything happened in the second 45 minutes. Lucas Cano opened the scoring in the 75th minute, while Alex Valera equalized in the 86th minute. The latter was a stunning goal that will surely contend for goal of the year.

Universitario’s next opponent will be Deportivo Garcilaso at the Estadio Monumental in Ate, on Friday, August 16 at 20:30 Peru time. Sport Huancayo, for their part, will visit Unión Comercio on Saturday, August 17 at 13:00 hours.
