12 places selected, including teahouse ‘Hoesudaok’
Twelve places, including the premium tea house ‘Hoesudaok’, were selected on the 11th as the ‘2024 Jeju Wellness Tourism Sites’ where you can experience a happy and healthy life.
Jeju Wellness Tourism is a certification system launched in 2021 by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Tourism Organization to provide differentiated travel experiences, and is comprised of the fields of ‘Nature and Forest Healing,’ ‘Healing and Meditation,’ ‘Beauty and Spa,’ and ‘Wellness Community.’
Hoesu-daok, which is considered a wellness community, is a high-end tea and tea ceremony specialty store located in Hoesu-dong, Seogwipo-si.
Representative menu items include ‘Nakgimcharim’, which offers five kinds of loose leaf tea and flower tea grown by Jeju natives and eight kinds of snacks; ‘Tea Class’, where artisan farmer Kim Maeng-chan explains the characteristics of Jeju tea and teaches how to enjoy it meaningfully; and ‘Hansangcharim’, where you can enjoy a cup of loose leaf tea or flower tea and snacks.
The leaf tea comes from the ecological tea garden ‘Chaam Forest’, which does not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and the flower tea is grown in an eco-friendly manner at ‘Ara Flower Garden’ in Jeju City. The tea utensils were made and baked using volcanic earthenware by potters Kim Seong-sil and Kim Su-hyeon.
Seo Kyung-ae, CEO of Hwesudaok, said, “We will strengthen overseas promotion using Jeju’s selection as a wellness tourism destination as an opportunity to make it a must-visit place for foreigners as well.”
In addition, the following were selected: Merchewat Forest Road, Seogwipo Healing Forest, Papaville, Hwansang Forest Gotjawal Park, Jeju 901, Chuidaseon Resort, Thinking Garden, Haebeach Hotel & Resort, WE Hotel Wellness Center, Sinheung 2-ri Dongbaek Village, and Scene of Jeju.
