Initiated by the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía and the Moroccan and Spanish Ministries of Foreign Affairs, this event took the audience on a memorable musical journey, full of emotion and marked by nostalgia.

The musical troupe thus magnificently performed, during this evening with Andalusian musical flavors, a selection of works drawn from Moroccan musical heritage, notably “Al Bourakia”, “Hbib Al Qalb”, “Achkt Tafla Andalusia et Mahanni Zine” and “Khlili”.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, musicians, performers and choristers from different cultures, religions and ages dazzled music lovers with a captivating artistic journey through various musical universes.

Through this performance, which was attended by personalities from various backgrounds, the Three Cultures Choir intends to promote intercultural dialogue and respect for diversity, core objectives of the Three Cultures Foundation.

“This evening celebrates not only music but also the Morocco of diversity and sharing,” André Azoulay, Advisor to HM King Mohammed VI and co-president of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, told MAP, saying he was happy to attend this moment which testifies, through art, song and music, to the proximity and intimacy between Morocco, Spain and Andalusia.

“I am also very happy that the Foundation, placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and the King of Spain, has chosen to offer us in Rabat this +Matrouz+ between Moroccan heritage in all its expressions and the very great Spanish music,” he added.

Mr. Azoulay concluded by emphasizing that “these are very precious moments and I am very happy that many of us are applauding this troupe tonight, which invites us to a celebration of Moroccan-Andalusian and Moroccan-Spanish music.”

For his part, the Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner, noted that “the Foundation of the Three Cultures is offering tonight a real gift of friendship and sharing between Spain and Morocco”, adding that the Moroccan musical repertoire is very close to that of Spain.

This unique concert brings together 100 voices, including 50 Moroccans who are part of the choir “The Voices of the Rabat Choir”, he added, specifying that the other 50 voices, who come from Spain and particularly from Andalusia, belong to several ensembles, notably ProyectoeLe, Seville Chamber Choir, Seville Musical Society and Choir of the Association Friends of the Maestranza.

“The voices of the two choirs, Moroccan and Spanish, are accompanied by 29 musicians, offering a unique repertoire that highlights this proximity, this bond and this emotion that we Spanish and Moroccans feel when we share music,” he continued.

The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation is planning another concert this Saturday at the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Church in Casablanca. These recitals represent the culmination of a much broader process, in which participants share rehearsals, moments of exchange and days of coexistence not only to combine their voices, but above all to get to know each other better, promoting intercultural dialogue and respect for diversity, objectives of the Three Cultures Foundation in all its actions.
