Al Haouz Earthquake: On High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the FAR Deploys Two Additional Medical-Surgical Field Hospitals
Rabat – On the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Armed Forces have deployed two additional medical-surgical field hospitals (HMCC) in the rural commune of Mejjat in the province of Chichaoua and the rural commune of Ighrem in the province of Taroudant.
Emanating from the High Solicitude, with which His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, surrounds all of His Subjects, this action will bring the number of HMCCs deployed to four and will contribute to strengthening medical aid and assistance for the benefit of the disaster-stricken population, particularly with the approach of the winter period, indicates a press release from the General Staff of the FAR.
Operational from the first hours after the earthquake, the first two multidisciplinary HMCCs deployed in the regions of Asni/Marrakech and Tafingoult/Taroudant, have so far carried out around 121 surgical operations and more than 25,000 specialized medical services, of which around a hundred were provided remotely via telemedicine technology by specialist doctors from military infrastructure hospitals, adds the same source.
