The Commission affirmed, in a statement, that it warmly welcomed this Initiative of His Majesty the King, stressing that the Sovereign insisted, in the Speech delivered on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, on the urgent need to remedy the significant deficit of infrastructures and investments in the region of the Atlantic coast of Africa, despite its wealth in qualified human capital and its abundant natural resources.
“The Moroccan proposal aims to address these challenges by creating a solid institutional framework that unites the twenty-three African countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean,” noted the pan-African legislative institution, based in Johannesburg.
She clarified that the main objective of the Royal Initiative is to promote security, stability and shared prosperity within the region.
This noble Initiative will undoubtedly bring about a fundamental economic transformation within the region and accelerate trade and connectivity of people, goods and services, the same source stressed.
The PAP Committee on Trade, Customs and Immigration said it fully supports this “ambitious and inclusive Vision” which is in line with realising the dream of a prosperous and interconnected Africa and called on leaders and stakeholders to also support it.
