‘Green Island with Camping’ sold out in 2 minutes after registration opened

Local small business owners and self-employed people are having a hard time this summer due to the constant high prices and economic recession. Various events are held to revitalize local businesses, but it is not easy for the warmth to spread throughout the region.
This summer, Suncheon City is attracting attention by preparing events at Ocheon Green Square with local youth and local merchants from the event planning stage. The goal is to create a space where citizens and tourists can enjoy themselves on an ongoing basis by establishing a culture of playing in the square, rather than a one-time event, where tourist consumption leads to local consumption. The events planned by Suncheon are different.

On the 9th, at 6 PM, when the registration for the “Green Island through Camping” event began, all camping sites were sold out in just 2 minutes. Although there were 72 sites, including the autonomous zone, the midsummer heat could not stop the campers.
This event, which will be held for the first time on the grass of Green Island for 2 days and 1 night from August 31 to September 1, is an event where you can fully enjoy the natural scenery of Suncheon, including Dongcheon, with your family or lover. Along with camping, various events such as ▲magic show ▲beer yoga ▲early morning ashing ▲recreation will add to the enjoyment of the participants.
Cooking and using fire is prohibited on Green Island, but this did not pose a problem to the participants. The city plans to return 20,000 won of the 30,000 won participation fee as Suncheon Love Gift Certificates and operate a ‘Sunsim Delivery Zone’ to create a virtuous cycle structure where the consumption of tourists participating in the event can be fully returned to local merchants.
After the evening camping program ends, participants can go down to Ocheon Green Square and enjoy the ‘2024 Suncheon Beer Festa’ event that brightens the summer night.

The ‘Youth Festival’, in which youth travel guides comprised of local youth participate in everything from planning to execution, has returned this year transformed into the ‘Suncheon Beer Festival’ with the keyword ‘chicken and beer’.
The ‘2024 Suncheon Beer Festival’ event, which will be held at Ocheon Green Square on the 31st, will feature not only beer but also various performances, experiences, and events. There are plenty of things to see and enjoy, such as radio story events, EDM performances, nighttime outdoor movie screenings, and various experience programs, so anyone of any age or gender can enjoy it.
From the 15th to the 24th, a pre-registration event limited to 50 teams will be held, and those who register will be provided with mats and chicken. You can apply for the event through the Naver form (
In addition, the Ocheon Merchants Association will deliver chicken for free to three delivery zones set up at the event venue. Participating businesses include BHC, Yellow Chicken, Okku Chicken, Mongsili Maesil Chicken Gangjeong, 60-gye Chicken, Pizza Nara Chicken Princess, and Puradak. To celebrate the event, local business Suncheon Beer will provide an opportunity to enjoy craft beer at a lower price than the consumer price.
Mayor Roh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon City said, “This summer night event was planned with the help of local merchants and local youth from the planning stage so that both tourists and the local community can be satisfied,” adding, “I hope that this event will serve as an opportunity to establish a culture of playing in the plaza and to help local businesses.”
