In just a few hours, Jungle Camp fans will be able to watch the first episode of the summer version of the TV format. One candidate is causing a stir beforehand.
RTL recently announced that the opening show of “I’m a Celebrity – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” will have to do without Jan Köppen. The presenter was struggling with health problems at the time of filming, so Sonja Zietlow had to welcome the candidates alone in South Africa.
But that is not the only personnel change that is causing a stir shortly before the start of the summer jungle camp. RTL had previously announced that 13 candidates would be taking part in the TV adventure – but one participant was missing when they entered the jungle.
As RTL reports, reality star Elena Miras will not be part of the jungle cast right from the start, she will only join later in the camp. The broadcaster does not reveal when exactly she will meet her fellow contestants at the campfire. So viewers can look forward to a surprise.
The Allstars season with 13 former candidates promises a few changes that will set the special edition apart from a regular season. This time, the season will take place in South Africa and not in Australia. In addition, in the summer version, it is not the viewers who decide who will win the prize money of 100,000 euros. The reason: The Allstars edition will not take place live as usual, but was recorded in advance. “A lot will be decided in tests and in the team. I think that will create a whole new dynamic,” Sonja Zietlow recently explained on RTL.
This also means that the work on the reality show will change for the two presenters. “We are not live and for us, in terms of work, that means that we don’t have to do a live show, that we don’t have to work at night and all day, but we go in a few times, make an announcement, do lots of tests,” reported Sonja Zietlow.
