On this occasion, the Minister and the accompanying delegation visited the mobile social assistance unit, a space equipped with several services provided by the supervisory ministry, the National Assistance and the National Institute of Social Action (INAS) aimed at providing social assistance and psychological support for people affected by the earthquake with a particular interest in women and children.
This visit comes in application of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI concerning the mobilization of all necessary human and logistical resources, with the required speed and efficiency, to come to the aid of the affected populations and lend them a helping hand.
On this occasion, the minister received explanations on the interventions of the supervisory ministry and National Mutual Aid to help disaster victims, in particular the creation of a steering and coordination committee in Tahanaout and support centers at the level of the prefectures and affected provinces, namely Marrakech, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate and Azilal and the establishment of social support and psychological support units in the affected areas.
It is also a question of ensuring the mobilization of all human and logistical resources, in particular the mobilization of 60 psychological managers in Al Haouz and 158 in the other affected provinces, 75 psychology specialists and volunteer social workers in Al Haouz and more than 210 in the other affected provinces in addition to 45 equipped trucks.
The Minister also learned of the deployment of the National Assistance teams, the supervisory ministry and other partners, as well as the various services and actions carried out in favor of the victims, from the first hours following this earthquake, at the level of six other similar social assistance units, set up in the areas of “Tahanaout”, “Ouirgane”, “Talat’N’Yacoub”, “Amezmiz”, “Imlil” and “Sti Fadma”.
Subsequently, the minister made a tour of the various dependencies of this Social Assistance Unit which includes, among other things, a mobile medical unit, a space dedicated to psychological support, child protection, positive parenting, family mediation, and support for people with disabilities, and activities for children.
Mrs. Hayar also took part in a collective breakfast with children from families affected by the earthquake, before distributing kits (clothing) to them in an atmosphere of conviviality and joy, on the occasion of the celebration of Eid Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Acharif.
Similarly, the recitation of the Fatiha was carried out, for the repose of the souls of the victims of the earthquake which shook the region of Al Haouz.
In a statement to the press, Ms. Hayar highlighted the actions carried out, hand in hand, to ensure the implementation of the support and assistance program for people affected by the earthquake, with a view to guaranteeing them all the conditions for development, and enabling them to create added value and therefore contribute to social and economic development, in accordance with the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI relating to the reconstruction and development of the affected areas.
All government departments are working hard within the framework of the commission chaired by the Head of Government, and under the coordination of the Ministry of the Interior, to provide aid and assistance to disaster victims in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, the minister recalled.
In this regard, Ms. Hayar reported remarkable psychological support and strong support for people with disabilities in terms of technical equipment, noting that the social center organized, among other things, a workshop focused on support and training for women.
A distance learning platform has also been launched to enable these women to work on their own projects, she continued.
The various activities have started to resume their normal course, reassured the minister, while saluting all the stakeholders, in particular the services of the supervisory ministry, the National Assistance, the Social Development Agency, the INAS as well as the other mobilized and supportive partners and associations, which did not hesitate to provide the necessary social support and by making psychologists and doctors available to the disaster victims.
Furthermore, in Marrakech, the Minister and the delegation accompanying her went to the “Dar Al Bir Wa Al Ihssane” apprenticeship training center, an opportunity to visit a social assistance unit set up and supervised by the National Assistance, within this establishment to help and lend a hand to people affected by the earthquake, from the province of Al Haouz and the old Medina of Marrakech.
On this occasion, the Minister learned about the various services offered within this unit to the target populations, namely social assistance, listening and psychological support, entertainment, in addition to paramedical services, before making a visit to the various dependencies of this Center.
