The fourth working day of trading in the capital market this week began on Wednesday (August 14) with a big rise in the indices of the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges (DSE-CSE). In DSE and CSE on this day, the index increased as compared to the previous working day and the amount of money traded increased. However, the share price of most of the companies and mutual fund units traded on DSE and CSE fell.
According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 84.81 points from the previous day and stood at 5 thousand 952 points. The DSE Shariah index rose 14.98 points to 1,270 points and the DS30 index rose 63 points to 2,197 points.
Total shares and units of 397 companies were traded on DSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 116 companies increased, 239 decreased and 42 remained unchanged.
A total of 1 thousand 243 crore 98 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE on this day. Shares and units worth Tk 1,151 crore were traded on the previous working day.
On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index increased by 85.06 points to 10 thousand 328 points. Overall index CASPI increased by 132.55 points to 17 thousand 124 points, Sharia index increased by 4.24 points to 1 thousand 87 points and CSE30 index increased by 230.18 points to 13 thousand 368 points.
Shares and units of 240 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, share and unit prices of 71 companies increased, 148 decreased and 21 remained unchanged.
At the end of the day, shares and units of Tk 18 crore 13 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 15 crore 7 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
