The future of Samsung devices is getting closer. The arrival of the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the Galaxy S24 marks the way for the upcoming arrival of the Android 15 system. This is great news for some, but not for everyone.
While this may excite many, not all of us can say the same when it comes to updates. With new releases, undoubtedly many devices would receive their latest software updates, which means that the end of their useful life is approaching.
The farewell of a dozen smartphones
Among the devices that would receive their last update with One UI 7, according to Sammobile, are the following:
- Galaxy S21
- Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Galaxy Z Flip 3
- Galaxy A13
- Galaxy A03s
- Galaxy M13
- Galaxy M23 5G
- Galaxy A05
- Galaxy A05s
- Galaxy M12
It was expected that some of the future exclusions would occur. The Galaxy S21 series will celebrate 4 years in 2025 and therefore may stop receiving major updates. Similarly, the popular Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 would also find themselves in the same situation.
It is worth mentioning that, for now, details are being prepared for the arrival of Android 15. Meanwhile, Samsung is advancing in the development of One UI 7, which is expected to arrive by the end of this year. The Galaxy S25 series is set to be the first to experience the combination of Android 15 and One UI 7.
Lastly, it should be considered that this advancement in the operating system does not mean that most applications will stop functioning immediately. This serves more as a warning that the device may have a few more years of use before it becomes necessary to consider purchasing a new device.
