The hotel has been owned by the United HMO since 1981, when the purpose of operating the hotel is a recovery vacation for the fund’s insured. Over the years, a dispute arose between the hotel’s management and Meuhedet with the Ministry of Construction and Housing over land adjacent to the hotel, which Mehadat claims is included in the hotel’s land, but in the 1980s two residential buildings of the Ministry of Housing were built on it. In the same way, Meuhedet is in conflict with the Tiberias municipality, which planted trees in an area that Meuhedet claims was included in the hotel border.

The hotel was sold after the stabilization agreement signed by the fund with the Ministry of Finance in 2019, according to which the fund will be forced to sell real estate it owns, including the two Canaan Spa and Bali hotels. Currently only the Bali hotel is facing a purchase deal. Some have launched operating tenders that will include long-term renovation and rental.
