New Delhi: Indian athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Friday. The athletes had a fun and informative conversation with Prime Minister Modi, in which both sides shared their views and advice. Bronze medallists PR Sreejesh, Aman Sehrawat, Lakshya Sen were among the players who met Prime Minister Modi.

India won 6 medals in the Paris Olympics. Many athletes came close to winning medals but missed out. PM Narendra Modi told the athletes who did not win medals, ‘Sports is a field where one does not lose but learns. Those who have lost should not think that they have been left behind. You have learnt a lot. All of you are achievers for me. There is no one among you who has not achieved something.
What did you say to Lakshya Sen?
Lakshya Sen lost the bronze medal match in the Olympics. He had a chance to become the first Indian male athlete to win an Olympic medal. PM Modi said to Lakshya – Do you know that you have suddenly become a celebrity this time? In response to this, Lakshya said that Prakash Sir had taken the phone during the match. On this, PM Modi jokingly said that I will send it to him next time too.
Achievements were also mentioned
Indian athletes achieved many achievements in the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker became the first Indian woman to win two medals in one Olympics. Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian athlete to win individual gold and silver. Aman became the youngest Indian to win an individual Olympic medal. PM Narendra Modi also mentioned them in his speech. Along with this, he also praised Vinesh Phogat who was eliminated after reaching the final.
