The national team of Bulgaria for under-20 volleyball players won the third consecutive victory at the Balkaniad in the Serbian resort of Varniachka Banya.

After defeating Moldova and Albania with 3:0 each, the same result was obtained against Turkey with a decisive 3:0 (25:15, 25:15, 25:14). Our opponent was undefeated until now, but had no chance against the team led by Miroslav Zhivkov.

The success guarantees our team a place in the semi-final against Greece on Friday at 21:00. The other match in the final four is Serbia – Turkey.

The first game was a real testament to how strong a game element the kickoff is. After an equal start, Turkey led by 8:5. Then Simeon Nikolov served and Bulgaria recorded six points in a row. Three of them were aces. The Turks managed to tie the score to 11:11. After that, however, the Bulgarian team became a total hegemon. Alexander Kandev also showed how important the opening kick is, and after his performances, ours pulled ahead with 16:11. Until the end of the game there was really no intrigue and we won the part with 25:15.

The second game was again a show of power on the part of Bulgaria. Only his first few minutes can pass in the column of equals. In the game of ours, everything was going – kick-off, block attack. Bulgaria took the lead with 10:2 and with that everything was really clear. Ours allowed very short bad moments, but the difference did not decrease. In the end, we repeated the result – 25:15.

The third part was not much different from the first two. Nikolov stood on the kick-off and we led 4:0. The Turks could not resist at all. The result grew almost continuously. Our blockade was also doing an excellent job. At no point in the match did the opponent find a solution to our kick-offs. The third game ended 25:14.
