The Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) has summoned 74 former members of the extinct FARC-EP to give their version of events in the framework of Case 10, which focuses on investigating and clarifying serious crimes committed by the former guerrilla group, which cannot be subject to amnesty.

These crimes, including homicides, massacres, forced displacement, enforced disappearances, sexual violence, and the use of illegal methods of warfaremust be investigated, tried and punished in accordance with current regulations.

Among those summoned are key figures from the last Secretariat of the FARC-EP, such as Rodrigo Londoño Echeverry, known in times of war as Timochenko or Timoleón Jiménez, last commander in chief of the guerrillas. Also called were Julián Gallo Cubillos, alias Carlos Antonio Lozada, who was commander of the Antonio Nariño Urban Front and member of the General Staff of the Eastern Bloc, and Milton de Jesús Toncel Redondo, alias Joaquín Gómez, who held command positions in the 14th Front and the Southern Bloc.

In addition to these leaders, the Truth Recognition Chamber has also summoned middle-ranking officers of the Southern Bloc, such as Fabián Ramírez Cabrera, known as Fabián Ramírez, former commander of the 14th Front, as well as other former commanders who must provide their testimony to clarify the truth.

This summons includes figures such as Angel Alberto Garcia Sanchez, alias Hernan Benitez, former commander of the 17th Front, and Edgar Ramirez Medina, alias Onofre Camargo, former commander of the 50th and Tulio Varon fronts. Also to appear are Henoc Capera Trujillo, known as Giovanni Castro, former commander of the 21st Front, and former senator Victoria Sandino, who was part of the General Staff of the 21st Front and the Rene Gonzalez Political Commission.

The investigation, led by judges Julieta Lemaitre Ripoll and Marcela Giraldo Muñoz, focuses on three patterns of violence: non-amnestyable crimes in the context of social and territorial control, those committed during the conduct of hostilities, and those perpetrated in urban contexts. The JEP has provided all the necessary reports so that the defendants and their lawyers can exercise their right to defense.

In this first phase, Case 10 will analyze the strategic areas for the FARC-EP, including areas of the Central Joint Command and regions of the Eastern Block and Southern Block, which range from Sumapaz to San Vicente del Caguán, and the Amazonian foothills. The investigation seeks to identify those most responsible for these crimes that marked the history of the armed conflict in Colombia.
