OnePlus Imitates Google: Here’s What the Chinese Giant Has in Mind

by time news

It’s no mystery that companies take examples from each other and sometimes do the same things, This often happens especially on social networks which take inspiration for their features from competitors, thus introducing very similar ones.

Apparently this phenomenon also concerns the giants that deal with the production of smartphones and in particular involves OnePlus and Google, the latter in fact is very well known for releasing specific updates for your home devices containing features completely unique and dedicated to the latter, an activity that apparently very soon will not be the sole prerogative of Google but will also concern the well-known Chinese company that had already thought about releasing these feature drops in the past.

Affected smartphones

This new type of update will be and is distributed by OnePlus in OTA mode and it is not downloadable and flashable manually, it concerns the following smartphones:

  • OnePlus 12 e 12R
  • OnePlus Open
  • OnePlus 11
  • OnePlus 10 Pro e 10T
  • OnePlus 9 e 9 Pro
  • OnePlus 8T
  • OnePlus Nord 4
  • OnePlus Nord 3
  • OnePlus Nord 2T
  • OnePlus Nord CE 4
  • OnePlus Nord CE 3
  • OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite
  • OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite
  • OnePlus Pad e Pad Go
  • OnePlus 8 e 8 Pro
  • OnePlus Nord 2
  • OnePlus Nord CE 2
  • OnePlus Nord CE

The two versions have the name U120P01 e U120P02 and are available for smartphones and tablets, the changelog is relatively limited but it acts as an opening to this new OnePlus policy, it mainly focuses on improving system stability and adds some changes to the calculator app.

This is therefore a small step towards what OnePlus has wanted to do for some time, nothing too drastic but which nevertheless marks a turning point in favor of this new philosophy that in the past only Google implemented towards its Pixel smartphones, so all that remains is to wait and see what more concrete will arrive in the future.
