According to Gochang County on the 16th, a total of 200 housing units will be supplied to the Gochang New Vitality Industrial Complex in Gosu-myeon after being selected for the ‘2024 Job-linked Support Housing Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
It is provided at a lower rent than nearby areas, targeting workers at industrial complexes, small and medium-sized business workers, and young entrepreneurs.
Up to 80% (KRW 32 billion) of the construction cost will be supported by the Housing and Urban Development Fund. 100 units with exclusive areas of 36㎡ and 100 units with exclusive areas of 56㎡ will be supplied, and the project will begin in earnest in the second half of this year, starting with an agreement with the LH Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters.
With the selection for this public offering, Gochang New Vitality Industrial Complex will take a leap forward as a premium high-tech industrial complex equipped with transportation infrastructure (two highway intersections), cultural welfare (Gosu Complex Cultural and Sports Center), and worker accommodations close to work.
In fact, the Samsung Electronics Smart Hub Complex (Samsung Electronics Honam region logistics base) is expected to directly and indirectly hire about 500 workers. In addition, G-Tech Co., Ltd., a communications device semiconductor manufacturer, is expected to hire more than 100 workers, and SB Food Co., Ltd., which produces oligosaccharides, is also expected to hire 70 new workers.
In particular, the ‘government-supported housing supply’ is expected to continue to be a major advantage for many companies to decide to invest and move into Gochang. This is because the potential for revitalization and regional development of the Gochang New Vitality Industrial Complex has been proven amid fierce competition among local governments across the country.
Shim Deok-seop, the governor of Gochang County, emphasized, “The supply of 200 housing units will be an important opportunity for Gochang County and the Shinhwalryuk Industrial Complex to emerge as a new growth engine for the region,” and “We will continue to provide active support and administration so that more companies can invest in and move into Gochang County, and achieve a complete sell-out of the industrial complex.”
