Islamabad: After the arrest of former chief of Pakistan’s army intelligence agency ISI, Faiz Hameed, three more retired army officers have been detained. Giving information, the Pakistani army’s media wing ISPR said that the three former army officers have been detained in connection with Faiz Hameed. ISPR said that the retired officers have been detained for working against military discipline. It also said that investigation is going on against some retired officers and their associates working for political interests.

Court martial proceedings against Faiz Hameed

ISPR said, ‘In connection with the Field General Court Martial proceedings of Lieutenant General (Retired) Faiz Hameed, three retired officers are also in military custody for actions contrary to military discipline.’ Earlier on August 12, former ISI chief General Faiz Hameed was arrested by the army on August 12. Court martial proceedings have been initiated against him. Faiz Hameed is accused of snatching valuables from the owner of a private house society while being the ISI chief. ISI and Rangers were used for this.

Allegations of land grabbing and robbery

On the complaint made in the Top City case, the Pakistan Supreme Court had ordered an inquiry against Faiz Hameed. After this, the army started an inquiry against Hameed. The ISPR had said that the process of Field General Court Martial has been started against Lieutenant General (Retired) Faiz Hameed under the Pakistan Army Act and he has been taken into custody. The CEO of the housing society Top City had accused the former ISI Director General of grabbing land and stealing valuables during the raid.

Moiz Ahmed Khan had filed a petition in the human rights cell of the apex court in November 2023, demanding action against the former DG ISI. The petitioner had said that he and his five other companions were kept in custody after the raid. It demanded action against Faiz Hameed, his brother Najaf and others.
