The opening shot of “Alien Romulus” reveals a starry sky over a deathly silence. And it’s true that since the first installment of a series that began in 1979 in theaters, “in space, no one can hear you scream.” This original “Alien” by Ridley Scott was then based on the claustrophobia of a system and the closed space suggested by the interior of a spaceship. As well as what was still referred to as special effects, namely a cluster of techniques creating simulations and illusions. Not to mention the design of a monster, a xenomorph as perfect as it is terrifying, envisioned by the Swiss Hans Ruedi Giger. With all this, Scott’s “Alien” would quickly impose its universe, making the possibility of a sequel almost impossible.
