New Delhi: The stock market may have seen a big decline in the recent days. But people’s love for Equity Mutual Funds continues. That is why a total investment of Rs 37,113.39 crore was made in it during the month of July. This information has been given in the report released by the Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI) on Friday.

Decline in inflows

According to AMFI data, open-ended equity mutual funds witnessed a decline of 8.61% in inflows in July 2024. It has now come down to Rs 37,113.39 crore. This decline is associated with a decrease in investments in both large-cap and mid-cap funds. Despite this decline, open-ended equity funds have continued to experience positive flows for the 41st consecutive month.

AUM reached close to 65 lakh crores

According to recent data, the mutual fund industry’s net assets under management (AUM) reached an impressive ₹64,96,653.14 crore in July. This represents a remarkable growth, surpassing the ₹60 lakh crore milestone for the first time, which was achieved in June.

NFOs also came in large numbers
Last July, around 15 new fund offers (NFOs) were launched. These NFOs collectively raised ₹16,565 crore. Sectoral and thematic funds led the way with a substantial contribution of ₹9,790 crore. Notably, only two sectoral funds were launched during the same period. In fact, there are five such top mutual funds in the mutual fund industry that have given CAGR returns of more than 20 per cent during the last five years.

Promote SIP investment
According to the latest data from Amfi, monthly systematic investment plan (SIP) investments rose significantly, rising from ₹21,262 crore in June to ₹23,332 crore in July. Large-cap funds, however, saw a significant drop in inflows during this period, falling 31 per cent to ₹670.12 crore. Both mid-cap and small-cap funds also faced a slowdown in fresh investments. Nonetheless, small-cap funds still attracted net inflows of ₹2,109.20 crore, while mid-cap funds garnered ₹1,644.22 crore in fresh investments for the month.

Increased investment in hybrid funds
There has been a marked change in the investment landscape. Hybrid funds saw a substantial increase in inflows last month. It reached ₹17,436 crore in July, a significant jump from ₹8,855 crore recorded in June. This surge underlines investors’ growing confidence in diversified portfolios that blend equity and debt.
