Chandigarh/New Delhi: Despite one and a half months having passed in the case of embezzlement of crores of rupees by showing admission of four lakh ghost students in government schools of Haryana, the CBI investigation has not gained any momentum. Sources say that the biggest problem in the case is the lack of investigation officers with the CBI. To compensate for this, the CBI had asked the Haryana government for investigation officers from the Haryana Police to investigate this scam of thousands of crores of rupees. But it is said that the CBI has not yet been able to get this investigation officer on deputation from the Haryana government. This is the main reason. Due to which the CBI investigation has not gained any momentum yet. Or it can be said that the investigation has not yet started properly.
CBI has more work pressure
Sources said that in fact, for some time now, the work pressure on CBI has been increasing so much that the number of investigation officers it has is falling short. In such a situation, when CBI filed cases in this matter as per the orders of Haryana-Punjab High Court in the last days of June, then CBI felt the need of additional investigation officers to investigate it. For this, CBI also wrote a letter to the Haryana government. But sources say that till now the Haryana government has not given investigation officers on deputation to CBI. Now until CBI gets the manpower, there is little hope of speeding up the investigation of this case.
The matter is related to thousands of government schools in Haryana
The case is related to thousands of government schools in Haryana. Where four lakh students were allegedly admitted fraudulently between 2014 and 2016. Copy-books, school bags, uniforms, food and other government facilities provided in the name of these students were allegedly embezzled. More than three cases have been registered in this. The cases have been registered against various unknown officials, teachers and employees of Haryana Primary Education Department.
Why are students skipping school?
The matter of admission of lakhs of fake students in Haryana might not have come to light at that time. But between 2014 and 2016, 22 lakh students were admitted in thousands of government schools in Haryana. Suddenly, students started dropping out of schools on a large scale. Why are students leaving school? To find out the reason for this, initially one or two schools were investigated. In the preliminary investigation, surprising information came to light. In which it was found that students are not leaving school, rather most of the students who dropped out of school never existed, all this was done fraudulently. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, then all the government schools of Haryana were investigated. In which the fact came to light that fake admissions of about four lakh students were done. These students existed only on paper, in reality they had neither any identity nor any address, family and other details.
