The volcano that has been raging in the Middle East for more than 75 years could at any moment explode into the rest of the world with unimaginable devastating consequences. More than ever, peace in the region is an urgent global need.
If “civilization” means inventing machines and using them to commit mass murders of children, women and the elderly. If a “civilized state” is a state that judges, condemns and executes outside of any trial and any legal process, national or international. If a “civilized state” is a state that round up civilian populations, deprives them of water, food, medicine, care (…) and bombs schools, universities, hospitals, mosques (…) because “animals” would have taken refuge there. If a “civilized state” is a state that decides alone, unilaterally, what justice is, how to punish, whom to punish (…). Then, yes, a return to “primitive life”, even “wild life”, may be the best option. A return to “animal life” would be the lesser evil. It is better to be “animal and wild” than to be human and claim to be the possessor of unique and absolute truth/power.

In fact, “October 7” was first of all exposing a reality that was previously hidden with difficulty. A basic reality where people expelled from their places of residence and dispersed in refugee camps and around the world, thus becoming “stateless”, constantly threatened with annihilation, put up a constant, lasting and versatile resistance. “October 7” was above all a moment justifying the acceleration of a genocidal process that had begun much earlier. “October 7” would be used first of all to hide a vast forest filled with “inhuman corpses” and where the roots of the trees are intertwined to bring together all the defeated, massacred, voiceless people. But “October 7” allowed many individuals, many people to discover and above all understand the drama of a people and the muffled voice of other people whose history has been almost completely erased from memory. “October 7” has also sharpened awareness of this threat of the “filthy beast”, which reawakens almost everywhere, and irrigates many regions of the world with the poison of hatred, preparing the ground for an increasingly barbaric global process of separation and dehumanization. Will hope be buried forever? Are we still so far from the light that appeared in the darkest hour of history?
