Rome, 16 Aug. “The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) believes it is very likely that more imported cases of Mpox will occur and recommends that European countries strengthen their preparations against the epidemic caused by the monkeypox virus. Although the risk of an epidemic in Europe is still considered low and our health authorities are reassuring about constant vigilance, we ask Minister of Health Schillaci to promote in the ways he deems most appropriate more information on the nature of this virus and on the methods of contagion, given that the WHO has declared a state of emergency.” This is what the AVS group leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Luana Zanella, said.
