Katy Perry is being investigated in Spain for environmental damage

It seems that Katy Perry has not started the promotion of her new album on the right foot and after a divided reception for her single ‘Woman’s World’ now the pop singer is accused of environmental damage after illegally recording a video clip in the protected dunes of S’Espalmador in the Balearic Islands.

All indications are that the American star is being investigated in Spain for possible damage to the environment caused during the filming of her video for the new single ‘Lifetimes’ which will be part of the album ‘143’.

However, filming would not be authorized, as shared by the Department of the Environment of the Balearic Islands stating that if would start an investigation to determine whether the recording caused any damage to the environment of the protected dunes in the area of S’Espalmador which is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park in Ibiza and Formentera, an area described as having great ecological value.

In the clip released on August 8, the singer is seen spending a day at the beach before spending the night partying; however, one of the scenes was taken in the dunes of S’Espalmador, in an area marked as prohibited.

He Department of Environment mentions that the video does not represent a crime against the environment, however, it is worthy of a infraction, The filming could have been authorized with the proper request, which was never issued.
