Ukraine rescue mission; The Chief Minister held discussions with the External Affairs Minister

Thiruvananthapuram | Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called on Union Minister of State for External Affairs S.K. Discussed with Jayashankar. The Chief Minister said that he was receiving many messages of distress from the Malayalees stranded in Ukraine.

He said there was an urgent need for water and food for those taking refuge in bunkers in eastern Ukraine, such as Kiev, Kharkiv and Sumi. The Minister assured that all necessary facilities would be provided for the rescue mission and the Central Government would extend all possible assistance to them till then.

The CM also shared a complaint that Ukrainian officials were not allowing students to cross the border into Poland due to the extreme cold and that the army was being used against them. He also demanded that Ukrainian-speaking officials be sent to the border as soon as possible to resolve the issue.

The External Affairs Minister assured that the existing officials at the border would be able to do so. He also demanded that a rescue mission be made possible through Russia. The Chief Minister thanked the Ministry of External Affairs for all the successful rescue operations so far.
