Lucas Sanabria will be on the list of possible signings for Benfica. According to the newspaper ‘O Jogo’, the Reds have approached Nacional Montevideo regarding the young player, but have not yet made any type of proposal for him.
This information contradicts what was reported by the Spanish sports daily ‘AS’, which on Wednesday stated that the Eagles were in negotiations with Nacional, seeking to reach an agreement for the 20-year-old midfielder.
The same publication added that Sanabria, characterized by the Spaniards as the ‘new Ugarte’, is attracting the attention of many clubs, including North American and European teams, among which is Rio Ave.
The newspaper ‘O Jogo’ claims that Nacional Montevideo intends to secure the player’s stay until the end of 2024; however, they may allow the player to leave for a fee of around 5.5 million euros.
