jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Jessica Kumala Wongso or Jessica Wongso, the convict of murder with ‘cyanide coffee’ will be released today, Sunday (18/8).

This was discovered from a chain message circulating from Jessica’s legal team, Otto Hasibuan.

“We hereby inform you that Jessica Wongso is planned to be released from Pondok Bambu prison/prison on August 18, 2024, at 09.00,” the message read.

Jessica, a woman born in Jakarta on October 9, 1988, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the crime of murder as regulated in Article 340 of the Criminal Code, on October 27, 2016.

After going through several trials, Jessica was found guilty of poisoning her friend, Wayan Mirna Salihin (Mirna) by putting cyanide poison in Vietnamese iced coffee on January 6, 2016 at the Olivier Cafe in Grand Indonesia.

According to the police autopsy results, it was found that Mirna’s stomach was bleeding due to a corrosive substance entering and damaging the gastric mucosa.

It was later discovered that the corrosive substance came from hydrogen cyanide. Cyanide was also found by the National Police’s Forensic Laboratory in a sample of coffee drunk by Mirna.

Based on the results of the crime scene investigation and witness examination, the police named Jessica Kumala Wongso as a suspect. Jessica was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder.
