After the fourth place finish of our artistic gymnastics ensemble at the Paris Olympics, our ensemble is disappointed, but more importantly, already motivated for the next Olympics in Los Angeles.
Iliyana Raeva commented on this on the air of “Wake Up” on NOVA TV.
“We are already looking to the future, we are receiving huge support and love. No one is immune from mistakes. Everyone who is involved in sports knows that it is something very emotional and public, so peace of mind is hard to find,” he said. Raeva.
The Olympic cycle was a year shorter for preparation, the composition of the ensemble was changed several times, they lacked experience because they are a very young team, commented Raeva, who took fourth place at the Olympics in Paris.
“I could see the sadness and grief in their eyes, since a month earlier they had become champions, and in the qualifiers they came in first place and we all had hope,” Raeva said.
“I think that for the next Olympic cycle they will be even more motivated and in Los Angeles we will perform even better,” she added.
“They are both very disappointed, but also endlessly motivated to prove that they are the strongest in the world. Failure is the biggest stepping stone, Raeva also pointed out.
“Boryana Kalein had the competition of her life at this Olympics, I have never seen her play better. I really called her “queen”, she showed very beautiful gymnastics, combined with all the requirements in the rules”, said Raeva.
The coach of our ensemble is a coach of Olympic champions, she was categorical.
