Bangladesh High Performance Unit (HP) has reached the final of the Top End T20 series. Akbar Ali has entered the field against the Big Bash team Adelaide Strikers. Batting first in the final, Adelaide threw a tough target in front of Bangladesh. They collected 168 runs after losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Bangladesh need to score 169 runs to win.
Opener Jack Winter was run out in the second over after coming down to bat. He scored 4 runs from 8 balls. After that, Adelaide started riding on the bat of Harry Mathias and Tom O’Connell. Harry was dismissed after playing a slow innings of 19 runs off 23 balls at one end.
At the other end, Tom was batting furiously. No one could stop him. Afif Hossain Dhrub was forced to bowl. Afif bowled Tom in his first over. He played an effective innings of 53 runs off 33 balls before getting out.
Liam Cott stormed over the fear he had built. He played an 18-ball 30-run cameo to match HP’s bowlers. In the end, Adelaide advanced with the bat of Ryan King and Sam Rahal. King played an explosive innings of 35 runs off 19 balls. Sam was unbeaten on 20 off 13 balls.
Ripon Mondal took 2 wickets for Bangladesh HP. Apart from this, Afif Hossain, Rakibul Hasan and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi took 1 wicket each.
