Amar Kaushik’s film ‘Stree 2’ has created a big bang as soon as it was released. The film released on 15 August had made many records on the opening day itself, and now it is making its mark on the second day as well. ‘Stree 2’, which has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film on the opening day, has earned 31.4 crores on the second day. The earnings did fall on 16 August due to it being a working day, but it is still in a very strong position. While worldwide it has crossed the 100 crore gross earning mark in just two days. ‘Stree 2’ is the sequel to the film of the same name released in 2018, which stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Vijay Raj, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Tamannaah Bhatia. While in the prequel, Chanderi village was troubled by the terror of Stree, in ‘Stree 2’ there is now the terror of Sarkate. The audience is liking the film very much and they are not tired of praising everything from the story to the acting. Of course, ‘Stree 2’ is also getting the benefit of word of mouth publicity, but it has been proved once again that content is king. If the story is not strong, then even a big star cannot save it. Perhaps this is also a reason why ‘Veda’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’, which were released along with ‘Stree 2’, have faded in comparison to ‘Stree 2’ at the box office.

According to Sacnilk’s report, the earnings of ‘Stree 2’ have fallen by about -42% on the second day. While the film had a net collection of 51.80 crores on the opening day, it earned 31.4 crores on the second day, Saturday. The thing to note here is that yesterday i.e. 16 August was a working day, so the earnings fell. But still the film is in a very strong position. In just two days, it has earned 90.30 crores in the country. This also includes 8.50 crores earned from paid-preview on the night of 14 August before the release.

‘Stree 2’ made in 50 crores, will cross 200 crores in the country by Monday
‘Stree 2’ has become an all-time blockbuster. The budget of the film is said to be 50 crores. But the film is earning at such a rapid pace that it can earn more than 200 crores in the country in just five days till Monday. This is because now there is a weekend holiday on Sunday, while there is a partial holiday on Raksha Bandhan on Monday (19 August). In such a situation, there are high chances of increased footfall in theatres.

‘Stree 2’ had 45.31% occupancy in Hindi on the second day. It was 22.60% in the morning shows, which increased to 40.59% in the afternoon shows, 49.20% in the evening shows and 68.85% in the night shows.

Talking about the film’s worldwide earnings, ‘Stree 2’ has earned around Rs 130.05 crore in two days. The film is moving ahead at the box office very fast and is performing well. ‘Stree 2’ has performed much beyond expectations and has surpassed films like ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Tiger 3’, ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Pathan’. It will be interesting to see whether it becomes another 1000 crore Bollywood film worldwide or not!
