Panathinaikos ultimately failed to overcome the obstacle of Ajax, with the “greens” now continuing in the third-tier European competition.

In the Conference League playoffs, they will face French Lens. The first match of this pairing will take place on August 22 at the home ground of the League One team. The second match will take place at OAKA on the 29th of the same month.

Lens was founded in 1906 and their home stadium is “Bollaert”, which has a capacity of 38,000 spectators. In its 118 years of history, it has one championship, in 1998, and the League Cup in 1999. Last season, they finished in seventh place in the French league, which gave them the coveted European ticket.

Lens is coached by the 31-year-old Belgian Will Still, who recently took over the team on July 1. As for this year’s roster, the French have some significant names, such as 25-year-old Austrian center-back Kevin Danso and 25-year-old Argentine defender Facundo Medina, whose value is estimated at 25 million, as well as 30-year-old Franco-Congolese goalkeeper Bryce Samba, whose estimated value is 15 million.
