A new Lamborghini supercar makes its US debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The brand’s bestseller with two doors, the Huracan, was replaced by the Temerario super hybrid. The new model replaced the atmospheric V10 engine with a twin-turbo V8, lost mechanical all-wheel drive and became 19% heavier – by 268 kilograms.
Temerario’s hybrid system is very similar to that used by Revuelto. In both cases, the powerplant is four-motor, with separate electric motors driving the front wheels and an electric motor between the gasoline engine and the gearbox.
Each electric motor produces 150 horsepower and 300 Nm, so the maximum power of the system is 920 horsepower. The increase over the most powerful Huracan is almost 50%!
Lamborghini Temerario is much more dynamic than its predecessor: the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h has been reduced by 0.2 seconds (to 2.7 seconds), and the maximum speed has been increased by 18 km/h (to 343 km/h ). The braking distance from 100 meters to a complete stop is increased by the symbolic 0.1 meters (up to 32 meters).
