In an interview with Alondra Santiago, Vice President Verónica Abad called Daniel Noboa “perverse” and said that he “will not seek revenge” if he is given the Presidency.

In an interview with journalist Alondra Santiago, Ecuadorian Vice President Verónica Abad referred to the actions that Daniel Noboa’s government is taking to remove her from office. According to the official, the President does not dare “to tell the truth” about the real reasons for their breakup.

The dialogue between Alondra and Abad took place after the Ecuadorian Government refused to grant vacations to the Vice President. She described this fact as having her “kidnapped«.

Abad insisted that her life is in danger as she serves as an ambassador for peace in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Abad denounces “obscure” legality

Already in the interview, the Vice President pointed out that in her case they are seeking a “dark legality” to remove her from office. She added that they are trying to create chaos in the minds of Ecuadorians, in order to achieve “a legality trampling on all norms.”

Abad also said that she is very worried about the situation of her son, who is being prosecuted in the Nene case. However, she remains vigilant in order to “not make any mistakes” that could be used against her.

Noboa is “perverse”

In his interview with Santiago, Abad acknowledged that there is indeed a rift with Daniel Noboa, however, the ministers and the President’s team have not been able to clarify what motivated this situation.

He added that the government “cannot be brave enough to tell the truth” about what is really happening between the two authorities. However, Abad stressed that Noboa uses several public institutions to pressure him, even denying him his vacations.

Villavicencio murder

During the conversation with the Cuban journalist, Abad took a few minutes to talk about the assassination of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio. For the official, the murder of the presidential candidate “changed the political board.” According to the Vice President, Noboa “does not like to acknowledge that aspect.”

However, after the fateful event, Noboa’s campaign had the perception that it was very possible that they would win the second round against Correa.

Nene case and ‘jet trip’

Regarding the version given by a protected witness in the Nene case, where his son is being prosecuted for the alleged crime of influence peddling, Abad said that he never traveled on a jet as was claimed. He added that in the case of Sebastián Barreiro “everything was done to trample on his legitimate defense.”

According to Abad, the alleged jet trip was a protection service provided by the National Police during the campaign, but with an Aeropolice service.

There will be no “revenge”

In the probable scenario that Daniel Noboa must hand over the Presidency to Verónica Abad, the official said that she will not seek any kind of “revenge” for what the Government has done against her. She even said that if the case of Alondra Santiago had been under her authority, Abad would not have deported the Cuban journalist.

The Vice President also spoke about the attack on the Mexican Embassy in Quito. She said that she completely rejects this action and feels “embarrassed” in front of the Mexican ambassador in Tel Aviv.

In her final words, Abad said that the Noboa government “has always silenced her from the beginning,” especially through the Foreign Ministry. However, she maintains that this will not happen and she will continue to raise her voice.
