The United States reiterated its full support for the United Nations facilitation of a comprehensive political process in Libya based on dialogue and compromise among all Libyan parties and on the principles of the Libyan Political Agreement and the Geneva process.
This came in a post by the US Embassy on its official Facebook page and the “X” platform, in which it denied the validity of the statement attributed to it regarding the House of Representatives’ decision to end the term of the executive authority in Tripoli, and confirmed that it is a forged document and has no basis in truth.
The embassy announced its rejection of the fraudulent use of the official letterhead of the US Embassy in Libya to spread false information and attempt to mislead the Libyan people.
The embassy noted that the official letterhead had been taken from a condolence letter issued by the embassy, which was highly objectionable.
The US Embassy in Libya also confirmed that the US position on the Libyan political process has not changed.
