Doctor’s advice
Can breast milk be fed using a bottle?
Dr. Puneet says that the nipples of milk bottles are made of silicone. It is easy for the baby to suck them. When you breastfeed the baby after feeding him milk from the bottle, the baby only sucks the nipple and not the areola, which leads to nipple confusion.
What should be done?
For this reason, Dr. Puneet advises women that they should not start bottle feeding their baby too early. Lactation failure may occur due to nipple confusion and the baby may be deprived of mother’s milk.
