Shinsegae Foods Launches Campaign to Promote Consumption of Domestic Rice on ‘Rice Day’

At the ‘Rice Day’ commemorative event held at Cheonggye Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 13th, foreign tourists are tasting ‘YouAwatYouIt Rice Based,’ a plant-based beverage made by Shinsegae Food using domestic powdered rice.

Shinsegae Food announced that it will actively promote the consumption of domestic rice on ‘Rice Day (August 18th).’

First, Shinsegae Food held a promotional event using a food truck at the ‘Rice Day’ commemorative event held at Cheonggye Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 13th, using the plant-based beverage ‘YouAwatYouIt Plant-Based Rice (hereinafter referred to as Rice-Based)’ made with domestic powdered rice for approximately 1,000 consumers.

On this day, Shinsegae Food held a tasting event for middle-aged people who are interested in health, young people who value animal welfare and the environment, and foreign tourists visiting Korea, and informed them about the taste and nutritional value of powdered rice beverages. In particular, they actively promoted the fact that expanding powdered rice consumption through ‘Rice Based’ can provide stable sales channels and income to domestic farmers.

Starting on the 15th, a ‘Rice Based’ pop-up stand will be operated at the Hanaro Mart Yangjae branch in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and a tasting event will be held. In addition, the ‘Better Meal’ campaign, which suggests a healthy meal using ‘Rice Based’, will be launched. Until the 1st of next month, Hanaro Mart Yangjae branch will sell ‘Rice Based’ at a 50% discount and hold an event where the low-sugar, nutritious cereal ‘Kellogg’s Protein Delight Granola’ will be given away.

In addition, a special promotion will be held starting on the 18th, which is ‘Rice Day’, where customers who purchase ‘Rice Based’ products will receive price discounts and receive free drinks and cereals on Gmarket, Kakao Shopping, etc.
