A video of the illegal brutal execution of a Ukrainian soldier has gone viral on social media and in the media. The incident was responded to by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets, who stated that Russia wants to demoralize Ukrainian soldiers with such videos.

The Ombudsman noted that in fact the video appealed to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to conduct a thorough investigation and establish all the details of the crime of Russian soldiers. In addition, Lubinets noted that with such videos the enemy is trying to demoralize Ukrainians and especially those who defend the country from Russian invaders.

Lubinets also emphasizes that Ukraine and international bodies will hold everyone who commits such inhumane crimes accountable.

Let us recall that on August 16, a video appeared on social networks in which a Russian soldier demonstrates the severed head of a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier, which was placed on a pole. Similar horrific footage was filmed, according to DeepState analysts, near the Kolotilovka checkpoint in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. There, approximately on August 12, there was an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to storm Russian positions.

However, unlike the Kursk region, the Russian soldiers there were able to cooperate and repel the Ukrainian forces. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers retreated with heavy fighting, and then waited a long time for evacuation transport.

This video is not the first evidence of Russian military atrocities against Ukrainian prisoners of war. On June 18, 2024, photos of the severed head of a Ukrainian soldier appeared on social networks, which was placed on the hood of a truck – specifically so that it could be seen by a drone or recorded by a camera. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported this crime. Earlier, “Kursor” reported that, according to analysts, the lack of significant resistance in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation could be a signal to Putin from the Russian elites about the end of the war.
