Andong City (Mayor Kwon Ki-chang) and The Born Korea (CEO Baek Jong-won) signed a business agreement on the 19th to promote the “Public-Private Cooperation Regional Mutual Growth Agreement Project.”

To successfully spread these best practices, Mayor Kwon Ki-chang and CEO Baek Jong-won promised mutual cooperation in overcoming local extinction and creating new growth engines by linking Andong’s specialized resources with The Born Co.’s professional success know-how.
Specifically, we plan to focus on collaboration in three key areas: ① revitalizing the sustainable restaurant industry by linking regional specialties, ② attracting tourism (living) population by linking food and tourism, and ③ successfully operating the food sector of the Talchum Festival.
First, the city plans to set the 2024 Andong International Mask Dance Festival to be held in September as the first stage for collaboration and to jointly promote Andong’s branding and the success of the local festival through the following means: △developing food menus using local specialties, △discovering content with a comparative advantage, and △differentiated promotional strategies.
In addition, the city plans to focus its administrative power on securing sustainability and competitiveness through customized administrative and financial support to gradually attract the Andong branch of the Daegu-based Daebon Food Industry Development Institute targeting the inland areas of Gyeongbuk and the Daegu area.
In addition, we plan to promote collaboration on training professional manpower to lead the local restaurant industry and commercial district revitalization. It is expected that the trained manpower will play a key role in establishing a virtuous cycle for the revitalization of the old downtown commercial district, which is rapidly declining.
In addition, we plan to pursue close collaboration for the success of the project, including applications for related public offerings by the central government and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and proposals for our own projects.
