It’s a Südtirol that pleases. The winning debut against Modena was not only recorded as the first debut victory in the three seasons in the second division, but the success against the canaries of the former Bisoli represented the confirmation of how much positive has emerged in the red and white work in progress, started since the retreat in Val Ridanna. Progress that has “disconcerted” even the former coach from Bologna who, probably, expected a team “crushed down” (as he himself stated in the post-match) but who, on the contrary, found a Südtirol with its chest thrust out in an effective offensive set-up and that, especially in the first part of the match, was able to inflame the hearts of the 3,500 spectators. Attitude that, at the same time, sowed anguish in the thoughts of the Modena coach. «Today’s performance (Saturday for those reading, ed.) showed us that we knew how to prepare well – Valente declared at the end of the match – for us the biggest danger could have been to lose patience and want to force the play.
Probably in the first half we could have attacked the depth more insistently, but I am aware that it is not always easy because you risk losing the ball and exposing yourself to
counterattack. In the locker room, at the end of the first half, we looked at each other and talked: deciding what we wanted to do when we returned to the field. Those who came on did very well by making themselves available to the team, and thus managing to achieve a truly important result. At the same time, I am very, very happy with the goal found by Matteo Rover, a goal that repays him for the long period of conditioning due to the injury. Let’s enjoy this moment, from Monday we will get back to work with our heads down, because Serie B is not just a long championship but it is a tough championship”. Mister Valente’s satisfaction travels parallel to the awareness of being able to have a wide range of resources and quality choices. Alternatives that do not represent second choices, but that, on the contrary, impose themselves as profiles capable of forging new ideas, the new Südtirol.
Alessandro Mallamo’s performance, with a goal, did not go unnoticed: good feet, dribbling and sprints that put the experienced rearguard of the Canaries in difficulty. Mallamo who has shown he can coexist with the movements of Kurtic, Molina (great match from him) and Casiraghi himself. The synthesis of the reasoning is that in this new season of Serie B, mister Valente will be able to show a decided calmness in his choices (inconveniences permitting), given that he has a qualitative parterre superior to that of the previous championship. Valente’s strategy struck Modena and also mister Bisoli. The Bologna coach left the field with his head bowed and without greeting the “beloved” Bolzano public. “Nobody greeted me and I didn’t greet them!” declared the former red and white coach. “Whoever greeted me received my greeting.
