A few weeks ago, a knife attack occurred at a Taylor Swift dance class. Now the singer has met with children who survived the attack.
At the end of July, a dance class for children took place in Southport, north of Liverpool. The young participants danced to Taylor Swift’s songs. But the class was abruptly interrupted by a knife attack. Three children were killed, and eight other children and two adults were injured.
Taylor Swift subsequently expressed her horror at the incident. “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is still running through my mind and I am in complete shock,” the 34-year-old wrote in her Instagram story. “They were just little kids at a dance class. I don’t know how I can ever express my condolences to these families,” she said, describing her emotions. Now the musician has met not only with the relatives, but also with some children who had to witness the attack.
As part of her “The Eras” tour, Taylor Swift is currently in London, where she is playing several shows at Wembley Stadium. Among the concertgoers were victims of the knife attack, and the pop star met with them backstage. The mother of one child has now published a photo show on TikTok in which Swift poses with two girls in several pictures. The American is wearing a turquoise and gold stage outfit and is hugging her fans. A bandage can be seen on the left forearm of the larger girl, and both children are laughing at the camera.
“You painted stars around my scars,” the mother wrote in the caption. “A huge thank you to Taylor Swift and her mom for the most magical night for all of us. Thank you for bringing pure happiness to Hope and Autumn last night, that will last forever,” she added.
The photo has already been liked over 263,000 times on the social media platform. “I’m so happy for the girls that Taylor made this possible,” “This warms my heart,” and “It’s nice to see that the kids are slowly recovering from the shock,” are just a few of the comments.
The knife attack in Southport was not the only setback for Taylor Swift in recent times. She was scheduled to perform in Vienna between August 8 and 10, but the concerts in the Austrian capital were cancelled due to the increased threat of terrorism.
