Christchurch: The South African cricket team is touring and playing in New Zealand. South Africa lost the first Test by an innings and 276 runs

The 2nd Test started two days ago at Christchurch, with South Africa winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Charles Ervey, who played well for the team, scored a century.

In the end the team lost all their wickets for 364 runs. Following this, the New Zealand team started playing the first innings.

Tom Latham, the team’s captain and opener, was out for no runs. He was followed by Will Ng on 3 and Conway on 16. Colin de Granthome scored the only consolation fifty.

At the end of the second day’s play, New Zealand were 157 for five. The 3rd day match started today. At one end the wickets fell but at the other end New Zealand’s Colin de Grantcom played aggressively and scored a century.

In the end New Zealand lost 10 wickets for 293 runs in the first innings. Colin de Grantcombe was unbeaten until the final with 120 runs.

South Africa’s openers Charell Erwie (8) and Elgar (13) were out for 71 in the second innings. Thus the South African team stumbled, losing consecutive wickets.

Van der Dazen was the only consolation batsman to score 45 runs. At the end of the 3rd day’s play, the South African team scored 140 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. This puts the team 211 ahead of the New Zealand team.
