In the Legends Jungle Camp, Kader Loth talks about a dark chapter in her life. The TV star has endometriosis – and had to undergo an operation.
Editor’s note: The content of this article refers to the jungle camp episode, which will not be shown on linear TV until August 20th, but is already available on RTL+.
Kader Loth is an indispensable part of the show business. In 2004, she moved into the “Big Brother” house and thus started her TV career. This was followed by appearances in shows such as “Kampf der Realitystars”, “Die Alm” and “Das Sommerhaus der Stars”. Her partner is now also in the public eye: the reality star often appears on the red carpet with Ismet Atli, and they also take part in TV formats together. The two have been together since 2008.
Kader Loth and Ismet Atli do not have children. Not a voluntary decision, as she now reveals in the sixth episode of “I’m a Star – Showdown of the Jungle Legends”. The 51-year-old confides in her fellow camper Hanka Rackwitz. She explains that she suffers from endometriosis. In this disease, the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. This leads to very severe pain in the abdomen and back. As a result of the diagnosis, Loth had her uterus surgically removed in 2018. However, she had not expected the side effects of the procedure.
When a doctor first advised her to have her uterus removed, Kader Loth initially refused indignantly. But the pain became increasingly worse. “I really took ibuprofen and all kinds of painkillers every month. But at some point I said: I can’t live like this anymore,” the jungle camper remembers. She was always afraid of her next period and the pain that came with it. “These fears caused me to develop anxiety attacks,” says the Berliner.
After much deliberation, she decided to have the procedure. Before the operation, she had high hopes. “I was really looking forward to a pain-free life,” explains Kader Loth. But after the operation, she felt completely different. “You then go into artificial menopause. Hello? Nobody told me that. I walked into the clinic as a human and I came out as a zombie,” the TV celebrity recalls her experiences.
The artificial menopause made Kader Loth’s panic attacks worse. She could no longer be alone and couldn’t manage to go shopping alone. “At that moment I thought I was dying,” the reality star describes his thoughts at the time. Loth eventually sought help from a psychologist: “He told me that he often had women who were panicking about their menopause.”
She now has her old life back. She is optimistic about her future. “This illness has made me stronger than ever. I am grateful every day that I am healthy,” says Kader Loth.
On August 15, “I’m a Celebrity – The Showdown of the Jungle Legends” started on RTL+. On linear television, the special broadcast to mark the show’s 20th anniversary only started one day later.
As usual, the jungle camp will be hosted by Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen. However, this year “I’m a Celebrity – The Showdown of the Jungle Legends” will not take place in Australia, but in South Africa. The show was also recorded. Filming took place several weeks ago.
